Sarah Brown is a glass artist and illustrator. She enjoys exploring ways to integrate storytelling in her illustrative style into private and public projects using glass and other materials to realise site specific outcomes. Sarah also teaches fused glass and enjoys sharing her practise. More recently she has been using cast glass to express her ideas.

2014 – Present – Maker/Artist
I work full time with my creative practise, exhibiting at galleries and shows, making
commissions and experimenting with new techniques in glass. I also complete
commissions and public art projects in other materials, using illustration as the basis
for all my work.

2018 – Present – Studio Assistant, Colin Reid
I assist in the making of cast glass art for public and private displays, and exhibitions
across the world. I specialise in Batuto cutting, and apply this to pieces during the
coldworking process. I also assist with the everyday running of the studio.

2008 – 2010 – Student Proctor, University of Hertfordshire
I helped with the running of the Ceramics workshop this involved, loading and firing
kilns, making glazes, and reclaiming and restocking clays and general up keep of the

I aided with making of plaster moulds, and slip casting pieces for an exhibition in
New York. Also, I gathered information for press releases.
Kestrel Graphic Design, Witham, Essex
Whilst learning skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark Express I completed
live projects for companies such as Tesco, Argos and BBC.
